Pour Forest of Grief, son premier album, Old Nick décide de passer aux choses sérieuses : une pochette lugubre en nuances de gris chargée de symboles satanistes dessinée par un vrai graphiste, des thèmes mélancoliques et mortuaires à la pelle, et enfin un raw black metal médiéval. Mais pas de demi mesure chez Old Nick : les synthés ont le droit à leur quart d'heure de gloire. Accordéons, chiptune et effets en tous genres nous entraînent vers un passé ancien mais pas comme on s'y attend. Décalé !

Curse Of The Lock Master permet à Old Nick de donner encore plus de cohérence à son univers. Car oui : les cellules des cryptes dans Witch Lymph ont des serrures aussi solides grâce à un mystérieux lépreux qui vit dans les tours. Il n'est pas un cordonnier mal chaussé : le raw black metal révèle un personnage aussi tourmenté et maudit que ses propres créations. C'est souligné par une production acérée qui percute des atmosphères grotesques et cryptiques. C'est théâtral et haut en couleurs !
